EMBARGOS
This embargo applies to all North Island Secondary School Orienteering Champs events. Anyone found breaking this embargo or intentionally trying to gain an unfair advantage will be disqualified from competing or coaching at the relevant event.
Who are embargoes for?
Everyone intending to enter NISSOC needs to be aware of the embargoes in place for the event. Embargoes are areas that are out of bounds to competitors prior to the events, and cover the areas being used in the competition. This prevents unfair prior knowledge being gained about the terrain and map features, and helps ensure a level playing field for the competition.
Any attempt to physically survey, train or attend any navigational sporting activity that may take place within the embargoed areas (such as rogaining, adventure racing or Mountain biking) is forbidden.
Use of maps or route choice testing is forbidden.
You are reminded that the entire Pukekura Park is under embargo. The exceptions to the embargo which were I. The original notice are removed from 16 to 19 April.
From 16 April no competitors or team managers may enter the park for any reason until they access the event on the morning of 19 April and this must be via Brooklands Park Drive.
Embargo area are outlined on the maps here and include Pukekura Park, Barrett Domain and the education precinct covering Spotswood Primary, Rangiatea Campus and Spotswood College

School Sports NZ Eligibility Regulations apply to this event
Any student who is newly enrolled (transferred schools) after 1 January 2026 requires approval from School Sport NZ.This does not apply to year 9.
